Childhood and Background

Lawrence O’Donnell was born on 7th November, 1951 in Boston, Massachusetts. His father Lawrence Francis O’Donnell (Sr.) is an attorney and his mother Frances Marie Buckley is an office manager. Although his family is from Ireland, he follows American Nationality.

Lawrence completed his high school from St. Sebastian School in 1970 and graduated from Harvard University in 1974. He was captain of the high school baseball team.

Lawrence started his career as a writer in 1983 with the book named ‘Deadly Force’. The book was about police brutality. After three years that book was casted as a movie A Case of Deadly Force where actor Tate Donovan acted as O’Donnell and Lawrence was associative producer of the movie. During his journey as a writer (1977-1988), he wrote many essays and articles. His works get  feature in some popular medias like The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, New York Magazine and Boston Magazine.

After that, Lawrence involves himself in politics from 1989-1995 by joining U.S. Congress. During his service period he served as senior advisor to Daniel Patrick Moynihan (1989-1991) and as a staff director of the United States Senate Committee on Finance.

Later on Lawrence step in the film industry. He was associated with television series The West Wing from 1999-2006. Over this period of time, he was as a writer and producer of the series. This series accomplished him to achieve Emmy Award as the executive producer.  He also started his acting career. He portrayed the role of Attorney in Big Love (HBO Series) and Judge Lawrence Barr in Monk series. He was also appeared in the episode of Homeland and Two Cathedrals series.

His career takes a complete turnover after joining MSNBC in 2009. At that moment he was just a regular contributor on the show “Morning Joe” with Joe Scarborough. As the shows carried on, his unbeatable and unique debate style heated the stage. This event paved a path to his show The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC in 2010. This show is the political commentary program. Donnell described his show as “providing the last word on the biggest issues and most compelling stories of the day”.

Lawrence O’Donnell was married to a beautiful artist Kathryn Harrold in 1994.They have one daughter named Elizabeth Buckley Harrold O’Donnell. His marriage lasts for 19 years. After that they divorced. Currently there is a rumor that O’Donnell is in a relationship with American Reporter, Tamron Hall. Although an Insider reveals that Tamron and Lawrence have known each other from 2011 and dating since a long time, dating isn’t just a piece of cake Tamron is interested in. Though marriage between these two journalist is still in cliffhanger, there is no such information that boils down the marriage between these two couple.
